CodaNigeria was founded in 2015 even though it would have been founded years before. CodaNigeria was founded in the knowledge that there is a Coda association somewhere in the world that is already thriving. Children of Deaf Adults refers to hearing children of one/both Deaf parents. According to the Coda-international website, research shows that approximately 90% of the children born to Deaf parents are hearing. I am one of them, and was happy to create a group that caters for our unique needs. Codas are people with unique life experience and a bountiful heritage. CodaNigeria is a small but fast growing grassroots organization that aims to become a worldwide entity with generical-like bonds reaching abroad. One of our missions is to raise funds for worthwhile codas for continuing education as we also aim to support the Deaf community especially Deaf Kids and of course Codas. We look forward to organising some retreats and meetings for self realization of our bilingual cum bicultural heritage. You are welcome to peruse through our simple fashioned website.
